Join The Smoke & Donuts Crew!

Job description

Have you ever wanted to learn to cook in a restaurant? We want to train you!

Have plenty of experience? Great, we are looking for leaders!

Smoke & Donuts offers an active open-kitchen opportunity with continuing education, upward mobility, competitive pay, medical/dental/vision/401k benefits, and a technique-rich environment led by a High-Honors graduate of The Culinary Institute of America.

We are a team of hospitality professionals. Here, our bartenders learn to make donuts; our line cooks learn to work expo; our dishwashers become pitmasters... Our employees grow to become restauranteurs.

Our mission is to offer mindfully sourced ingredients crafted with care into food that excites--food that brings joy--shared in a hospitality-rich environment that our friends and families can frequent.

We are looking for people who treat others with kindness and patience. We are looking for people stoked by the idea of joining the Smoke & Donuts Crew. And we are looking for reliable people. We offer an environment of kindness (we are a hospitality company, after all) in a crew of people who enjoy their work and a reliable structure in which growth is encouraged.

Smoke & Donuts® served its first paying customer under a beige pop-up tent in 2017. We now have a brick-and-mortar restaurant and a thriving catering company. We are growing (fast!), and we need talented individuals to join us on the journey! We offer endless growth opportunities, competitive wages, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, paid time off (once promoted to a salaried role), flexible scheduling, and the chance to learn from a crew of highly educated, talented professionals.

The Cook position is a vital ingredient in our company. In a nutshell, when prepping, cooks are responsible for producing food from scratch, following S&D recipes, scaling, measuring, properly cooling, and storing food. When working the line, cooks are responsible for setting up their station, properly heating food, producing our menu of foods, and breaking down their station, following Smoke & Donuts SOPs and local/state/federal food safety guidelines.

The position has a variety of responsibilities, some of which include:

  • Execution of food-safety practices

  • Ability and care to cook clean

The starting wage is based on experience/degree--Cooks are also part of our Tip Pool. We are prepared to train the right candidates!
